HP ProBook 6460b Built-in Memory Card Reader Cannot Detect Sandisk Ultra SDHC 8GB Card
I just bought a nice Sandisk Ultra 8GB Card. But when I stuck it into my aging HP ProBook built in card reader, nothing happens. Going to Google didn't help.
I always suspected it was a driver problem, but after using HP's built-in driver updater and going to their website to download the latest card reader driver but still nothing happened.
Until I updated the BIOS and restarted the laptop and viola! It works!
If you have a similar problem, head HERE and install the BIOS for free.
UPDATE: It seems like the card reader sometimes fail to detect and only a reinstallation of the BIOS will fix it.
